1. Row - Row spacing, Canopy height & Density of canopy = according to this we can select the number of nozzles required to cover the whole canopy area and Optimum fan diameter which gives appropriate air velocity for penetration of chemical inside the dense canopy of the tree.

In Air assisted sprayers agitators are provided inside the tank at bottom, in some sprayers both the agitators are located on the same side or in front of each other in cross direction. Cross direction agitation systems are more efficient for proper chemical & water mixing. Agitators are either mechanically operated or by using a water jet to continuous mixing of chemicals while spraying operation.

Agitation system helps to avoid chemical settling down at the bottom of the tank and also maintain a chemical to water ratio equal throughout the spraying operation in the field. This way agitation system maintains the equal concentration of chemicals which we want to spray on the trees.

Air assisted sprayers are equipped with specially designed brass nozzles with ceramic tip which have a fixed discharge rate at particular pressure. We need to calculate time required to cover our orchard plot at particular tractor forward gear & engine RPM. After the calculation of time we need to multiply the number of nozzles & discharge rate at fix pressure. From this exercise we can predict accurate Liter per acre chemical dose by using our air assisted sprayer.

Diaphragm pump is suitable for all types of tractor operated sprayer, because it has a low maintenance cost and it provides the continuous flow of spraying solution. Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps which move liquids via the reciprocating action of diaphragm. They are highly reliable because they do not include internal parts that rub against each other. They also contain no sealing or lubricating oils within the pumping head, meaning there is no chance for mixing of oil & water
